Privacy Policy

This policy covers the SEQUEN website (sequen.io). The SEQUEN app has its own privacy policy, shown inside the app.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, the time you joined, and which part of the page you signed up from. That is the complete list. The website sets no advertising trackers and no cookies for tracking. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not profile you.

How we use it

• To hold your founding-member seat and contact you about SEQUEN access.
• To send you SEQUEN updates through our newsletter. If you join the waitlist, we may also subscribe you to our Substack newsletter; every email it sends includes an unsubscribe link.

We do not sell your email. We do not share it with anyone except the services that store and send email for us.

Where it lives

Your email is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase. Newsletter delivery is handled by Substack under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email.
• Ask us to delete your email from the waitlist entirely: contact us via the support page and we will remove it within 30 days.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR / PIPEDA)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (when you join the waitlist and consent to newsletter delivery) and on our legitimate interests in operating and analysing the website. Under Canada's PIPEDA we rely on implied consent for the waitlist and analytics and express consent for newsletter subscription. You may withdraw consent by unsubscribing from any email or contacting us to delete your entry.

Cookies

The SEQUEN website does not set cookies for advertising, tracking, or user profiling. Cloudflare Web Analytics — which we use for aggregate site metrics — is cookie-free by design. Your browser may set essential functional storage for language and theme, but nothing that identifies you across sessions or sites.

Retention

Waitlist entries are retained until launch or until you request removal. After launch, entries are transferred into the app's founding-access flow. Analytics data is aggregated and retained by Cloudflare per its policy. Newsletter subscribers are retained by Substack under its policy until unsubscribe.

Regional privacy rights

EU / UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Canada (PIPEDA). You have the right to access, correct, and withdraw consent for the processing of your personal information, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

California (CCPA / CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other US states. You have the right to access, delete, and receive a copy of your personal information. We do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Contact us via the support page to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Children

The SEQUEN website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we collect, including transport encryption and access controls on our database. No transmission or storage system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date. Continued use of the website after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
